Over the years, we have collected handy hints to remember for your wedding day..... Enjoy!!
Do a trial run
A really important exercise to ensure that you are going to be happy with the styles you have chosen on your wedding day. This also helps makes sure that you are comfortable with the professionals that you have hired.
Don't stray too far from the real you
It’s always good to experiment with different make-up/hairstyles, but choose the one you are most comfortable with, the one that is most “YOU”! You will look back on your wedding photos forever, and ou wont them to resemble the real you!
Treat your skin
Ensure you nurture your skin, wether it be with a simple daily routine of cleanse, exfoliate, moisturise or a couple of indulgent facials at your local beauty salon. It’s important that you look after the largest organ in your body!
Drink plenty of water! Water, Water water!!!
Stash baby wipes in the bathroom to freshen up
Baby wipes are always handy to have tucked away, especially in hot weather. Wearing your wedding dress throughout photos, your ceremony, and until the end of your reception is a long day, filled with lots of cuddles, dancing and exciting moments that might cause you to feel a little sweaty. Baby wipes are a nifty way to quickly freshen up in the bathroom throughout the day!
Remember to put deodorant on before you get dressed
With all of the fuss and excitement happening throughout the morning of getting ready, this is one of the most commonly forgotten tasks on wedding days!!
Brush your teeth prior to starting your make-up
No, it’s not because we have an issue with morning breath, we would hate for you to remember after we have left, on your wedding day that you haven’t brushed your teeth, and may accidently get water on your face whilst scrubbing your pearly whites.
When to wash your hair
Most hairdressers recommendwashing your hair the day before to allow your hair to build up a little bit of oil without it being too fly away or too oily. If you have any concerns about the way your hair holds, be sure to discuss this with your hair stylist.
Make sure you have a touch up kit
Your day will be filled with lots of kisses, toasts and divine food... Keeping a lipstick in your purse to perfect your pout, and a compact foundation to wipe grandma’s red lipstick off your cheek, as to ensure you are camera ready all day long.
Handy hint: Most brides don’t have a little purse on the wedding day, so pop it in your maid of honors or close relatives purse!!
Go for Waterproof Mascara
You never know when your going to well up with emotion!
Decide if you are going to be wearing a veil
Before your wedding day, make sure you try on a wedding veil even if you think you do not want one. If you are having a veil it is a good idea to think about wether you will be wearing it over your face whilst walking down the isle. If so, make sure that you pick one that will be long enough to cover your face with the chosen hairstyle. It is always a good idea to take the veil along to your hair trial so that you can get a true picture of how it will sit on the day.
Get your Eyebrows groomed by a professional
A few months out from your wedding, start going to the same eyebrow artist that you are happy with so that you have time to grow out any spots that may be bothering you. If you do not have a local beauty therapist, please do not hesitate to ask me for some recommendations. There are many talented professionals around the Macarthur area, which I am pleased to recommend.
Avoid bold nail polish
Make sure that when you are getting your pre-wedding manicure & pedicure that you pick a nice soft colour that will look elegant and not draw too much attention away from your beautiful bouquet. Your photographer will most likely take photos of you and your husband signing the register, so it is important that your hands look gorgeous.
